Kauffman Sons Inc. was founded in 1936 by Goshen businessman, Clyde Kauffman. Currently, we are in our fourth generation of being a family owned and operated business. Kauffman Sons has been serving Michiana's residential, commercial, and agricultural needs for 72 years. We sell and service John Deere commercial, lawn and garden, and skid steer equipment.

Kauffman Sons has added some new product lines to the mix that complement the Deere products already offered. In 2004, we added Exmark zero turn mowers, the market share leader in commercial mowing. Exmark exceeded sales expectations and proved itself to be popular in the many demonstrations the sales reps at Kauffman Sons provided to potential customers. In 2005, we added the well-known line of Ariens snowblowers. In 2006, we added Echo handheld power equipment, Little Wonder wheel blowers and Mantis tillers. Together, these lines help to meet customer needs.

In 2005, Kauffman Sons expanded operations to St. Joseph County . That spring we opened a second location in Mishawaka and in October 2005 we moved into a new facility, just south of the Elm Road exit off the US 20 bypass. This allows us to focus specifically on providing the same quality of parts and service to our customers in St. Joseph County out of this second location. Kauffman Sons is the exclusive John Deere and Exmark dealer in Elkhart and St. Joseph Counties.

If getting to either location for service is a problem, no sweat. Kauffman Sons will continue to offer Ready to Mow in 2008 throughout Michiana. Ready to Mow is a program that sends a technician on the road in a fully equipped van, to provide annual maintenance on equipment or handle a variety of service repair needs. Ready to Mow has continued to grow every year as customers enjoy the convenience of having service at their front door and consequently, less down time.

The heart of Kauffman Sons' product is obviously the equipment and 2008 looks to be another fine year of new and improved products. This season, we forsee a lot of interest in the new z trak mowers from Deere...the Estate Series and Pro Series. The LA105 series riding mowers, also new this year, will be sold at the same price as many box store mowers, yet Kauffman Sons offer John Deere quality parts and service not available in those stores.

In addition, John Deere will continue to offer the popular Select Series of lawn mowers and garden tractors which provide greater quality than that of the LA series. Also the relatively new 2320 and 2520 compact tractors have increased durability and versatility over their predecessors. Exmark is using the redesigned Triton deck for 2008 which provide an increased cutting performance. A variety of other models have seen improvements for this season as well which should prove to provide another busy season.

Now that quality will be expanded in new ways and to new locations for years to come.
